We’re a capable local team that is straight up, practical, and focused on what really matters to our clients.

Hoskin is a Northland company in the truest sense. We were built here, we’ve grown here, and we employ and invest in local people. So when we say we understand Northland, it’s not just a line — it’s part of who we are. You get the depth and capability of a multidisciplinary consultancy, delivered by people who call this place home.

Our History

Hoskin started in 2008 with Kevin Hoskin and a simple idea: do good work, get the right people around the table, and look after the place we live in.

Our early jobs strengthened relationships and built the reputation that everything since has stood on. As Northland grew, so did we. We took on bigger roading and water infrastructure projects, invested in local people, and proved it is possible to manage complex projects without losing the hands-on approach that got us started.

In 2022, we grew to include NZ Environmental Management (NZEM), an environmental consultancy with 28 years of Northland history behind it. The NZEM team brought deep knowledge of the region’s ecology, hapū relationships and regulatory environment, built up over three decades of working across Te Tai Tokerau.

Our civil engineering capability had grown enough to change how we worked. It was the right moment to bring the whole team, including NZEM, together under one roof, rounding out the multidisciplinary team our clients rely on today.

We work as one team under the Hoskin name, project management, civil engineering, environmental and planning, and asset management, all under one roof, supporting clients across the full project lifecycle.

Our story began in 2008 with Kevin Hoskin and the civil and project management work that became Hoskin Civil. In 2022, we acquired NZ Environmental Management (NZEM), an environmental consultancy with 28 years of Northland experience behind it. NZEM continued to operate alongside Hoskin Civil, retaining the relationships, local knowledge, and environmental expertise it had built across Northland. By 2025, the growth of our civil engineering capability gave us the right moment to bring the whole team, including NZEM, together under one roof, rounding out the multidisciplinary team we are today.

Now working as one team under the Hoskin name, we support clients across the full project lifecycle: project management, civil engineering, environmental and planning, and asset management. From roads and three waters to facilities and open spaces, our work often draws on more than one discipline. Because our disciplines sit alongside each other and our people are already used to working together, we can help projects move more smoothly from start to finish.

We have offices in Whangārei and Kerikeri, but our team reaches well beyond those bases, with people living and working in communities from Mangawhai to Kaitaia and beyond. Being local shapes how we make decisions, the relationships we build, and the care we take with what is left behind long after a project wraps up.
