What we do in Environmental and Planning

No two sites are the same, and in Northland, context matters. Our environmental and planning work is about helping projects move forward in the right way, with advice that reflects the land, waterways and communities and the realities of the site itself. Good advice needs to be practical, considered and grounded in what is actually going to work.

We’ve spent decades building relationships with hapū, landowners, councils and regulators across Te Tai Tokerau and beyond. We work across roading, three waters infrastructure, power infrastructure, private development and rural land, and we know the requirements, constraints and expectations that shape projects here.

From the outset, we help clients understand what is needed to secure consent, manage risk and keep projects moving. When clients want to achieve more, we can help shape meaningful outcomes for the environment, the project and the community.

The result is a clearer path forward, fewer surprises, and environmental outcomes that are thought through from the beginning.

What we do in this space:

  • Geothermal monitoring
  • Tailored education programs
  • HAIL assessments to support subdivision, earthwork and building consents
  • Ecological impact assessments for terrestrial, freshwater and wetland environments
  • Planning assessments and assessment of environmental effects
  • Stream Ecological Valuations (SEVs) and fish passage assessments
  • Wildlife surveys and management, including bat surveys and lizard management plans
  • Construction management plans, implementation and monitoring
  • Water quality and environmental monitoring
  • Weed and pest animal management plans
